The Preceptorship Program at the Fremont Medical Center has been instrumental and great pillar of success for the Northern California New Graduate Program.
The Preceptorship Program supports the challenging needs of new graduate nurses in their Transition to Practice journey. Preceptors are provided with proper training to guide new nurses as they strengthen their skills, knowledge and behavior to embrace the challenges in providing best practices with confidence in the real bedside world.
Many positive and inspiring stories were shared by preceptees including establishing a means of real time and honest feedback from both preceptor and preceptee as an effective way in keeping up with standards of care, and emotional support in time of need.
Since Fall 2024, new residents graduated with the help of our dedicated preceptors. Preceptors guide new residents in achieving organizational standards and upholding best practices during the residency program. The challenge of learning unit specific standards in a new facility can be overwhelming without the guidance of the preceptors. While every preceptor and preceptee experience is unique, there is always a common success story among them all as gratitude is being expressed after the program.
The Fremont Preceptorship Program had continuously supported the organizational goal to provide every member with the highest quality care in all circumstances. We appreciate the endless dedication of each preceptor as they continue to inspire and motivate every new nurse to always provide the best care possible.
