During Nurses’ Week 2025, the Voice of Nursing (VON) Core Council proudly planned and hosted the first-ever DAISY Honoree Breakfast at KP Santa Rosa. This inaugural event celebrated the exceptional work of every nurse who had earned the prestigious DAISY Award. Bringing together nurses from both inpatient and outpatient settings, the breakfast provided a unique opportunity to network, share stories, and honor the extraordinary care they provide to patients every day.
VON Chair, Lori Tyler, RN, CPN, created a slideshow highlighting each honoree with their photo and nomination, allowing attendees to read and reflect on the remarkable achievements of their colleagues. The event was by invitation, creating an intimate and meaningful celebration.
Chief Nurse Executive, Rebecca Taylor Ford, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, opened the session by congratulating each nurse on their accomplishment and expressing gratitude for their dedication to delivering exceptional patient care. DAISY Nurse Leader honorees were also recognized during the breakfast.
For the first time in KP Santa Rosa history, two DAISY Team Awards were presented. The TPMG Outpatient Oncology and Infusion team and the KFH Magnet Ambassador Committee both received this annual recognition. In a surprise moment, VON Core Council members presented the awards and read the teams’ nominations aloud, allowing them to hear firsthand the impact of their work.
The event was a tremendous success, empowering nurses while honoring the profound difference they make in patients’ lives. The VON Core Council is excited to continue this tradition in the years to come.
