Vallejo supports cohorts of KP Nurse Residency Program

The Kaiser Permanente Nurse Residency Program is a structured, paid, 12‑month transition‑to‑practice program designed to support newly licensed registered nurses as they move from academic learning into professional bedside practice.

The program combines full‑time clinical immersion with experienced preceptors, high‑fidelity simulation, and a comprehensive evidence‑based curriculum focused on clinical judgment, patient safety, communication, and professional evelopment. Nurse residents receive individualized support through registered nurse clinical coordinators, preceptors, and mentors, along with ongoing education sessions that build confidence, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Offered across multiple Kaiser Permanente medical centers, the program fosters a supportive learning environment that promotes nurse retention, career growth, and high‑quality patient care from the start of a nurse’s career journey.

In 2025, the Vallejo team warmly welcomed the nurse residents, who are scheduled to graduate in February 2026.
