In March 2025, Kaiser Permanente Roseville hosted its sixth annual Pediatric Prom, a special event designed for teens with chronic illnesses, many of whom are unable to attend their school prom due to health concerns or compromised immune systems.
The prom offered these young patients a safe and joyful evening filled with celebration, connection, and lasting memories. The event was made possible by the dedication of approximately 200 volunteers, including healthcare staff, families, friends, and local high school students. Together, they contributed over 900 hours of volunteer time to bring the prom to life.
Planning began three months in advance, with careful attention to detail to ensure a magical experience for every attendee. Generous donations provided five racks of formalwear, allowing each teen to select the perfect outfit. Eleven conference rooms across the Roseville campus were transformed into spaces for hair styling, makeup, dancing, and other festivities.
A highlight of the evening was a visit from Sacramento Kings point guard Jake LaRavia, who posed for photos with attendees. The event also featured a raffle with over 60 prize baskets, donated by Kaiser Permanente staff and the local community.
This annual prom reflects Kaiser Permanente Roseville’s commitment to holistic care, extending beyond clinical treatment to support life experiences. It is a testament to the power of community and the importance of making every moment count, especially for those facing health challenges.
