Demonstrating a strong commitment to volunteerism and community service, the KP Squad — established in 2022 by Kaiser Permanente Roseville — organized a vibrant kickoff fair on September 24, 2025, in support of the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The event brought together departments including the Emergency Department, Senior Surgical Care Program, 3rd Floor Falls Committee, Memory Care Department, Healing Touch, and external partners such as the Alzheimer’s Association and Artisan Mind. Each group showcased geriatric-focused initiatives, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve care for older adults.
A standout feature was the “Memory Mix Bar,” offering lavender lemonade. Team Captain Vida dela Paz, BSN, RN, CMSRN, GERO-BC, PCCN led a spirited team of Cardio Drummers, energizing attendees. Co-captain Jennifer Ryden, RN hosted the Healing Touch tent, providing Reiki and therapeutic sessions. Raquel Angeles-Tapiador, BSN, RN coordinated logistics and managed a team of 10 volunteers, ensuring the event ran smoothly.
On September 27, 2025, the KP Squad supported the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by managing the Selfie Booth and Healing Touch tent — both requested by the Alzheimer’s Association. The KP-branded photo booth drew many participants, especially KP members. A total of 15 volunteers supported the event in rotating shifts. KP Public Affairs of Greater Sacramento provided full backing, while teams from South Sacramento and Supportive Care Services offered resources and education to attendees. With 65 registered participants, KP Roseville’s presence reflected its deep-rooted dedication to community health and advocacy.
