In October 2025, 20 nurses from the Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center (KP SRF) traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to attend the ANCC Annual Magnet Conference. The team kicked off the week bright and early at the KP NCAL Annual Breakfast, an energizing tradition that sparks excitement, builds new connections, and fosters community across the region.
Throughout the conference, KP SRF nurses immersed themselves in new and innovative evidence-based practices, opportunities to explore the exhibit halls, network, and learn with more than 13,000 other like-minded nurses from across the globe. Highlights from the conference included cheering on Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa as they proudly crossed the stage after earning their first Magnet Designation earlier this year. Other memorable events included attending the Magnet event at the Atlanta Aquarium and Cola-Cola venues, the first-ever KP National luncheon, where more than 700 Kaiser Permanente nurses joined together to celebrate and build connections across the enterprise.
With two KP sponsored t-shirts to wear at the conference, it was fun to watch the sea of nurses proudly represent Kaiser Permanente.
In addition to the larger KP sponsored events, KP SRF enjoyed a wonderful night full of laughter, smiles, and great company during the dinner hosted by our Chief Nurse Executive and Chief Operating Officer, Denise Laws, DNP, RN, NE-BC. The consensus among KP SRF attendees was lots of gratitude, excitement, and commitment to continue pursuing the journey to excellence. Looking ahead, the KP SRF Magnet Ambassadors Council is already gearing up to develop plans for 2026, carrying forward the momentum and excitement from this year’s conference.
