Over 35 Antioch Medical Center (AMC) nurses attended the fall 2025 3-session KP Foundations of Evidence-Based Practice Workshop. Their participation workshop supported professional development and excitement for future practice innovation and improvement, laying the foundation for evidence-based practice beyond scholarly inquiry, research and new knowledge among attendees.
Significance to nursing professional practice:
- Empowering nurses as change agents: Nurses are equipped to critically evaluate current practices, implement improvements, and lead changes within their clinical practice environments.
- Enhancing patient outcomes: Evidence-based practice enables nurses to apply the latest research to clinical decision-making, resulting in improved patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Fostering a culture of inquiry: The workshop encourages nurses to question the status quo, seek out best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Supporting magnet principles: Participation demonstrates a commitment to professional development, innovation, and nursing excellence—all core components of Magnet recognition.
- Building research capacity: Nurses gain skills to apply evidence, participate in research, and contribute to organizational goals and the advancement of the profession.
