Manteca nurses keep members walking

In 2025, patients met their mobility goals 90% of the time.

Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center consistently led the Northern California region in ensuring our members met mobilization standards. Evidence-based practice was the driver for our staff to ensure our members had proper assessments and avoided deconditioning while admitted.

The Unit Base Council led an initiative to educate staff on the importance of proper functional assessments each shift. This team maintained over 95% compliance with completing the CLOF assessment tool for members. This allowed our members to optimize their mobility and decrease risk for hospital acquired conditions such as pressure injuries and hospital acquired pneumonia. Patients were consistently meeting their mobility goals 90% of the time over the 2025 calendar year.

The entire care team took pride in knowing they were supporting our members’ recovery and decreasing their length of stay though maximizing the patients’ functional status.
