Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center was selected as a recipient of the 2024/2025 Soteria Award for Patient Safety — NCAL Top Safety Priority Index (SPI) Performer.
Soteria in Greek mythology is the Goddess of safety and deliverance and preservation from harm. This award and acknowledgement highlight the focus the nurses and frontline staff in Manteca have on ensuring our members are cared for with the highest level of excellence. This does not reflect one focus measure or initiative but illuminates the overarching priority of patient safety that has been embedded in the culture of Manteca Medical Center.
Patient safety is more than “doing no harm,” it is a culmination of personal interactions, tight processes and procedures, and developing individualized care plans for every member. Manteca nurses understand the importance of the basics: early mobility, hygiene, timely response, and frequent rounding. Embedding these evidence-based practices in the daily care provided to our members has elevated the quality of care and ensured the pursuit of excellence is enculturated within our team.
