Recognition Luncheons
In May, during Nurses Week, and again in August, our Chief Nursing Executive sponsored a special recognition luncheon to honor our outstanding Daisy and PETAL Award recipients. These gatherings offer a heartfelt opportunity to celebrate not only our extraordinary nurses, but also the special people who support them and the nominators who help spotlight their achievements. Beyond these memorable luncheons, we continue to recognize excellence with monthly celebrations in the department, ensuring that appreciation for our team’s dedication is ongoing and deeply felt.
Certification Day
Certified Nurses Day is March 19 – the birthday of Margretta “Gretta” Madden Styles, DNP, RN, EdD, FAAN, one of the greatest leaders in the field of nursing certification. On this day, we proudly celebrate nurses who have achieved and maintained national board certification in their specialty.
Antioch certified nurses received a warm welcome to work, festive banners, and special rounding throughout the medical center. These meaningful gestures highlight their achievements and certification as inspiration for others to pursue the highest standards in nursing practice.
Nurses Week
Celebrated annually May 6-12, Nurses Week starts on International Nurses Day and ends on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This year our theme “Together We Soar” was celebrated throughout the medical center and featured a warm welcome to the week by leadership, a gratitude wall and a special gift and treats for nurses. Events that took place that week included our Professional Governance Open House, an education fair, EBP/QI showcase, the famous annual scrub fashion show, and our Facility Selection Committee sponsored Annual Nursing Symposium.
