Wendy Gospodnetich, MSN, RN, CNS, NE-BC, is the Chief Nurse Executive at the Kaiser Permanente Fresno Medical Center. Wendy joined the Fresno team in 2008. During her tenure she has held the following leadership roles:   Magnet Program Director; Director of Clinical Practice, Informatics and Education (DCEPI) overseeing nursing clinical competency and practice, implementation and innovative use of clinical technology and nursing professional development; Manager of Clinical Practice, Informatics and Education; Interim Nurse Manager House Supervisors; Nursing House Supervisor, and Assistant Nurse Manager.

As Magnet Program Director, she performed pivotal work in transformational leadership, enhancing professional practice, nursing culture change management, shared and professional governance, and advancing evidence-based practice and nursing research to support the Fresno teams’ journey towards Magnet Designation. As the DCEPI she served as the Clinical Co-Chair of the Academic Service Partnership  for the Central Valley of California. Through strong collaborative partnerships with clinical and academic leaders,  an innovative project starting  from initial scoping through final implementation was completed.  This project was pivotal in maximizing hospital and non-acute care clinical  practicum capacity  by  streamline nursing and allied health clinical placements and compliance tracking.

Wendy has more than 30 years of experience in health care with 20 years in nursing. As a registered advanced practice nurse, she specialized as a clinical nurse specialist in intensive care nursing. She has a long history in the Fresno community earning her Master’s Degree in Advance Practice Nursing, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science with a minor in Philosophy from California State University, Fresno. Wendy is a committed visionary nursing leader. She is known for her passion in the profession of nursing and belief that if something can be imagined then it can be achieved.
