DONCP Alec Jamieson

A message from Alec Jamieson, MSN, RN
Associate Chief Administrative Officer
Director of Nursing and Clinical Practice

I am incredibly proud to highlight our ambulatory team’s unwavering commitment to nursing excellence. Our journey towards achieving and maintaining the highest standards of nursing care is a testament to the dedication and hard work of each member of our team.

Our commitment to nursing excellence is evident in the numerous initiatives and programs we have implemented, continually striving to improve the quality of care that we provide and improving the lives of those we serve.

As part of our commitment to nursing excellence, Fresno continues to move forward in our Magnet Journey, reaching a significant milestone in our pursuit of excellence and the Magnet designation. Achieving Magnet designation is not just about meeting a set of standards; it is about fostering an environment where nurses are empowered, engaged, and equipped to provide the highest quality of care. This journey underscores our commitment to nursing empowerment, quality care, and professional development.

The initiatives we have undertaken in 2024 have had a profound impact on our practice and patient outcomes. Fresno continues to demonstrate excellence in the care we provide in our award-winning stroke program, our diabetic retinal eye scans, breast and colon cancer screening, smoking cessation blood pressure management and more. In our efforts to improve patient safety and quality outcomes, we are making significant strides, and our nurses play an integral role in all this work. Our focus on reducing length of stay, enhancing care management programs, and optimizing outcomes within our numerous quality measures are just a few examples of how we are driving improvements and achieving remarkable results.

As we continue our partnership and collaboration with our hospital partners, it is imperative that we highlight the teams we mentor, guide, and lead and share the stories of our nurses going above and beyond, exemplifying the dedication and excellence that define our nursing practice.

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our patients and setting new standards for nursing excellence. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and exceptional contributions.

“I could not have received better care from the emergency room to the hospital – all around. Thank you! Great staff from the physicians, nurses, and specialties and service personnel.”
