Chief Nurse Executive, Oakland and Richmond Medical Centers
Dr. Pavna Sloan, DNP, MSN, RNC-OB, NEA-BC is the Chief Nurse Executive for the Oakland Medical Center. Pavna joined Kaiser Permanente in 2012 as an Assistant Nurse Manager at the Walnut Creek Medical Center. Since then, she has held numerous nurse leader roles, including Director of Maternal Child Health Services (MCH) at the Walnut Creek Medical Center.
Known for her collaboration and strong relationships with operational leaders, Pavna was promoted to Associate Chief Nurse Executive, Oakland in 2021 and Interim East Bay CNE in May 2022. While in both roles, Pavna helped to lead several key initiatives, including: Patient Care Services Labor Productivity optimization and hiring/recruitment; Hospital Patient Safety, Care Quality and Care Experience; East Bay Magnet Hospital Application readiness; Hospital Flow Steering Committee; and successful triennial survey by The Joint Commission.
Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Pavna held several nursing leadership roles at John Muir Health and Good Samaritan Hospital. She earned her BSN from the University of San Francisco, MSN – Nurse Administrator from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of San Francisco. Pavna is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).
