Esperanza Chavez, MSA, BSN, RN was named Chief Nurse Executive for Kaiser Permanente Sacramento Medical Center in 2024. Espee joined Kaiser Permanente in 2002 and brings in more than 17 years of leadership experience.
She began her tenure at Kaiser Permanente as an Assistant Nurse Manager, and was quickly promoted to the Nurse Manager position in 2011, and for 5 years served as the Clinical Director of Patient Care Service while contributing to numerous local and regional initiatives.
Espee began her nursing career at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines where she earned her BSN and obtained her Master of System Administration at California State University, Bakersfield. She has led many efforts to significantly improve patient care services and effective outcomes such as the implementation of Clinical Pathways that addresses physiological barriers to recovery; early identification of sepsis and aggressive treatment in the in-patient setting; improving care experience; and improved staff engagement scores for her teams through various performance improvement strategy.
