Chief Nurse Executive, San Jose Medical Center
Elaine Ware was named Chief Nurse Executive for the San Jose Medical Center in 2021. She is an accomplished nurse leader that supports affordable, high-quality, compassionate patient care utilizing evidenced-based practices, performance improvement and continued nursing education.
Elaine began her tenure at Kaiser Permanente in 2007 at the Santa Clara Medical Center, where she served as a Quality Nurse Manager and Clinical Adult Services Director. She completed the Chief Nurse Executive Fellow program dedicated to preparing high performing leaders for chief nurse executive roles through full engagement with chief nurse executives at Kaiser Permanente medical centers.
She holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from University of San Francisco; a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles; and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of New Hampshire. She has a Six Sigma Green Belt in Health Care from Villanova University, and is a Kaiser Permanente Performance Improvement Advisor.
