Christopher Neilson, MHA, BSN, RN, NE-BC was named Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nurse Executive of the Kaiser Permanente Fremont Medical Center in 2022.

Chris began his tenure with Kaiser Permanente in 2010 where he had various nurse leadership roles in the Central Valley Service Area. He first served as an Assistant Manager in the Emergency Department, then as the Emergency Department Manager, Emergency Department Director and as an Assistant Medical Group Administrator overseeing several clinical business lines, including Emergency, Urology, Occupational Health, Mental Health, Pain Medicine, and others, and was an administrative partner with the Central Valley’s Assistant Physicians-in-Chief for Hospital Operations.

Chris was named Associate Chief Nurse Executive in July 2019, and as the ACNE, Chris partnered with the Chief Nurse Executive on long-range objectives and strategies for all aspects of patient care, including quality, service, efficiency, professional practice, nursing competencies, and more.

Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master of Healthcare

Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Healthcare Administration.
