Chief Nurse Executive, Santa Rosa Medical Center

As a registered nurse for more than three decades, Vicky Locey believes in total health – mind, body and spirit. That is why she has dedicated both her personal and professional life to making lives better.

Vicky has worked at Kaiser Permanente for over 34 years. She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at the Santa Rosa Medical Center where she is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations as well as patient care services for more than 180,000 members.

Under her leadership and after 4 years of diligent work, Santa Rosa became the third Kaiser Permanente medical center in Northern California to be nationally recognized with Magnet Recognition® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Less than 10% of hospitals in the United States have earned Magnet Recognition, considered the gold standard for nursing excellence, quality care, and nursing practice innovations. It also includes standards for professional growth, education, and retention. Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa is the first hospital in Sonoma County to earn the designation.

An active community member, Vicky has been a past board member for the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, Redwood Empire Food Bank, Aldea Children and Family Services, Press Democrat Youth Service Awards and Canine Companions for Independence. With a life-long passion for learning, she has spent time in Vietnam and Costa Rica teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurse leaders.

Vicky holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Los Angeles County School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing through the Consortium of the California State University, Dominguez Hills, a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration and Business Administration from Sonoma State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University.
