Stephanie R. Woods, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, LSSGB, is the Executive Director of Patient Care Services at Kaiser Permanente Northern California, where she has region-wide responsibility for the adult service line, maternal child health service line, respiratory care, clinical informatics, and all aspects of nursing education in support of new hires, and ongoing competency to include orientation, annual competency review, nurse residency, and all specialty training programs for 21 hospitals in Northern CA.
Stephanie began her nursing career in a long-term acute care facility and has held increasingly responsible leadership positions over the course of 20+ years in the ambulatory, inpatient, and post-acute settings. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, she served as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer and the Associate Vice President of Emergency Services at UAB Hospital located in Birmingham, Alabama which serves as the state’s premier magnet designated, tertiary, academic medical center with 1,200 beds.
She earned her associate degree in nursing from Jefferson State Community College in 1996. In 2007, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University and completed her master’s degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Alabama in 2009. She is completing her doctorate of science degree in healthcare administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is a board-certified advanced nurse executive with a green belt in lean six sigma and a graduate certificate in health care quality and safety.
