Katie Hoganson, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, was named Chief Nurse Executive, South Sacramento in December 2024.

Katie is a passionate, patient-centered leader with 14 years of progressive expertise in nursing leadership and health care management. She started her Kaiser Permanente career in 2017, when she was hired as a nurse manager in South Sacramento. Since then, she has held progressively challenging leadership roles, including as Clinical Nursing Director of Adult Services, Clinical Nursing Director of Maternal Child Health, and Interim Chief Nurse Executive.

In the Interim CNE role, she implemented Leader Standard Work, resulting in a more than 52% reduction in SPI events; co-led the Hospital Care Experience Council, improving HCAHPS Likely to Recommend rating from the 40th to the 68th percentile (PY24); and led the Nursing Strategic Plan for 2025/2026.

Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. She is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leaders (AONL) and the Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL).

A huge sports fan, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin and their three kids, Kasette, Kolby, and Kellen watching the Kings, Giants, and 49ers. She is dedicated to weekly volleyball and yoga while also being ready to dress up in any costume for KP South Sacramento events!
