Betty Lopez, DNP, MPA, RN, brings to her leadership role nursing practice experience in a variety of settings: direct patient care nurse in medical/surgical, pediatrics, subacute and emergency nursing; Nurse Manager of various inpatient units; Director of Patient Care Services and Chief Nurse Executive at a Level II Trauma Center, as well as Administrator of home health services.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Masters in Public Health Administration, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of San Francisco.

She has been a coach and mentor for various health care professionals, encouraging the embracement of evidence-based practice, continued learning and pursuit of professional excellence. Her teams achieved accomplishments such as, American Stroke Association’s Gold Plus and Elite Honor Roll. Utilizing Nurse.com, she also nominated and recognized nurses for their professional contributions.  All her nominees were recognized as California finalists and some received the honor of being the State’s best in leadership, education, clinical expertise, and community involvement.

Betty’s professional service includes being an advisory board member for both Modesto Junior College and Cal State Stanislaus nursing programs. Peers have recognized her professional accomplishments having her nominated in Nurse.com and being selected as a Nursing Leadership finalist. She was also named Healthcare Hero in the Turlock Journal. The article recognized Betty for being a Central Valley native, raised by farm laborer parents who instilled in her the importance of working hard, constantly learning and never, ever being afraid to challenge herself.  She is a person who believes with great power comes great responsibility, and what greater responsibility than the arena of healthcare.
