Structure
- Established the Unit Practice Council of Procedural Areas (Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Neuro-Interventional Radiology, and Endoscopy).
- Established the Nurse Executive Council.
- Integrated to PGC, specialty services such as Quality Nurse Consultants and PCCs.
Process
Council Development
- Quarterly assessment using Council Health Assessment and Council Maturity tool.
- Participation of the Council Co-Chairs and Committee Co-leads in meetings as part of succession planning.
- Designating a Nurse Leader mentor and sponsor at the unit and core councils for coaching and support.
- Integrated Leadership Development Sessions in the monthly PGC Day
- Offering an 8- hr. Professional Governance Council workshop to new chairpersons and committee leaders.
- Supporting training and development of the Evidence Based Practice Council.
- Implemented PGC toolkit.
Standardized workflows
- Standardization of Charters in all unit and core councils.
- Standard templates and format of agendas, minutes, and forms.
- Use of TEAMs/electronic format for all communications, documentation, and presentations.
- Issue trackers for all councils.
- Adopted 3 takeaways to promote the dissemination of information to the frontline.
