In January, 2024, the Oakland Medica Center launched the Discharge Lounge to alleviate patient census by providing a safe and comfortable waiting area for patients ready for discharge.
In 2024, 3 cohorts of nurse residents successfully graduated from the PTAP accredited residency program.
8 nurses, including 7 nurse residents from the Oakland Medical Center successfully completed a 4-part Caring Science Module series.
The ICU created the Legacy Committee in 2022 with the mission to “honor and support grieving families by providing compassionate care, meaningful tributes and a lasting legacy for their loved ones”.
Nurses were celebrated on Certified Nurses Day and Nurses Week.
The DAISY program was revamped in 2024 with a new DAISY inter-professional committee and DAISY Coordinator, Anjal Pong, DNP.
Led by the Labor & Delivery clinical nurses, an event to recognize Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month was held at the Oakland Medical Center on October 15, 2024.
The Oakland Professional Governance Structure was implemented in April 2024 with the kick-off of over 65 nurses in attendance.
