Kim Colonnelli joined Kaiser Permanente as the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nurse Executive at the San Rafael Medical Center in June of 2018.

With more than twenty years of progressive leadership experience in complex healthcare settings, Kim has demonstrated the ability to be a leader for quality, safety, care experience, and other large-scale change efforts with superior results. Her focus is to engage leaders, staff, physicians and community partners to create a culture of excellence and improve quality and service for patients and family members.

Prior to joining KP, Kim worked for Palomar Health in San Diego as the Service Line Administrator for Emergency and Trauma Services and then as the Chief Nursing officer. Just prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Kim worked for United Health Services as the Chief Nursing Officer at the Corona Regional Medical Center.

Kim is a graduate from the LA County-USC School of Nursing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of New York, Regents Program, and a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Kim received her doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of San Francisco with a focus on executive leadership. Additionally, Kim was a nurse executive fellow at the University of Philadelphia, Wharton School of Business and is a Board Certified Nurse Executive with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
