In 2024, we proudly formed the Magnet Ambassadors, who played a key role in supporting the RN Excellence Survey to gather valuable feedback on nurses&#8217; experiences and practices. Additionally, we collaborated with administration to successfully plan and execute a joint Nurses and Hospitals Week, celebrating the dedication and hard work of our health care team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Maria Cabrera, ADN, RN<\/b><br \/>\nChair, Professional Development Core Council<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2024, the Professional Development Council prioritized membership growth and conducted a comprehensive house-wide survey to inform our strategic focus for 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Gladys Miller, BSN, RN, PHN<\/b><br \/>\nChair, Quality and Safety Core Council<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nursing Professional Governance now includes the Quality and Safety Council. The Quality and Safety co-chairs include Falls, HAP, CAUTI, CLABSI, HAPI, and C-Diff. A few of the accomplishments include updating and completing the charter. We have trained the co-chairs on data review resources, how to use an A3, and how to run a successful meeting. This council was established to ensure a system of shared decision-making and accountability between all levels of staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Zahra \u201cMinoo\u201d Nouri, BSN, RN, CEN<\/b><br \/>\nChair, EBP, Innovation, and Research Core Council<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn October, we attended the Magnet Conference, where we explored various posters and evidence-based practice (EBP) projects from hospitals nationwide, including notable initiatives by Northern California Kaiser Permanente. I participated in the KP\/UCSF EBP Strategic Planning Session as part of a group. This session will serve as our guiding framework as we move into 2025.Under the guidance of Gilbert, we formed a council comprising Zahra Minoo Nouri (Chair), Alex Fogli (CNS), and Autumn Argent (Nursing Advisor). We have successfully recruited six additional members and are ready to begin advancing EBP Initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abigail Velez, ADN, RN<\/strong><br \/>\nChair, Care Experience and Caring Science Core Council<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo enhance patient care, we integrated the Care Experience and Caring Science Core Council into Nursing Professional Governance. This new structure and support system facilitated an Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) project involving multiple Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles. This project centered on optimizing patient goal setting through the effective use of communication boards. Concurrently, we initiated another EBP project aimed at implementing updated care boards across all Adult-Patient Care Services (Adult-PCS). We are immensely proud of these achievements, as they signify a significant step forward in improving the quality of care we provide to our
