[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Under the leadership of Nursing Professional Development Specialist Narlyn Llamas, MSN, MBA, RN, GERO-BC, the Kaiser Permanente Roseville Voice of Nursing (VON) Professional Development Core Council organized a successful Gerontological Board Certification (GERO-BC) review course.<\/p>\n

With support from Chief Nurse Executive Debbie Reitter, DNP, RN, CNS, NEA-BC, and the Nurse Scholars Academy, the course received funding to cover the instructor’s fees. The two-day course, open to nurses from all 21 Northern California medical centers, included a watch party option for Roseville participants to actively engage. A total of 124 nurses from across the region participated, with 44 from Roseville.<\/p>\n

Since completing the course, 14 Roseville nurses have passed the GERO-BC exam. Narlyn’s commitment to nursing excellence extends beyond gerontological care, as she has also led review courses for certifications in maternal child health, including RNC-OB, C-EBM, dual RNC-OB and C-EFM, and RNC-MNN. Most recently, she facilitated the Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) review course, attended by 38 Roseville nurses. These initiatives reflect Narlyn’s dedication to advancing the professional development of nurses and enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
