As I review 2024, I am excited that I have finished my first official year as the Director of Nursing Clinical Practice for Santa Rosa. I have enjoyed the commitment of advancing our nursing excellence, being a part of the Magnet journey and driving meaningful impacts through this year\u2019s initiatives.<\/p>\n

In nursing excellence we have provided robust professional development opportunities, fostered a culture of innovation and supported pathways for recognition of extraordinary work. This is evidenced by our nurses who utilize the clinical ladder process in becoming NP III, SNIII and SNIV. We have registered nurses who have advanced certifications and plans to encourage others for 2025. We also had multiple DAISY award winners that encompassed front line staff and leadership.<\/p>\n

The Emergency Department has achieved remarkable success in fostering a positive culture and aligning its practices with the Magnet standards of nursing excellence. These efforts showcase the exemplary care the team delivers daily and underscore their unwavering commitment to leadership, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care. This accomplishment reflects the department’s dedication to continuously improving the quality of care, ensuring that every patient experience is guided by compassion, expertise, and the highest professional standards.<\/p>\n

This year, we launched several initiatives to elevate nursing practice. We introduced an Ambulatory Procedural Safety Program to enhance staff involvement in patient safety through a structured and consistent process for time-outs and debriefs for all procedures performed in the IR area. Additionally, we developed and implemented a nurse-designed and nurse-led education and training session to improve the facility’s Nurse Response process, which has been crucial in providing additional care during emergent situations. Furthermore, we initiated a nurse-designed and led project based on evidence-based practice to increase awareness of hand hygiene.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing our journey towards excellence in nursing practice. We will build on the successes of this year, further enhancing our programs and initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Together, we will strive to make 2025 an even more impactful year for our nursing community.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_id=”testimonial” el_class=”bg-dark”][vc_column][vc_row_inner el_class=”call-out”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””]“I hadn\u2019t needed the medical services of Kaiser (or anyone) for practically my whole life\u2026 and then I really needed help. Kaiser put me back together and made me whole and the nursing staff was the backbone of this experience. Our hospital staff, doctors and nurses love this community. They work hard to mirror the values of our community and its diversity. Their passion for what they do is matched only by the resilience, passion and love of life that Santa Rosa has as a community itself.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
