On April 26, 2025, Kaiser Permanente Redwood City brought its mission to improve the health of it’s members and the communities we serve to life by partnering with the Redwood City Office of Public Works for a community clean-up day.
Volunteers, including Chief Nurse Executive Daniel Ramberger, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, and Magnet Program Director Sherri Twardzik, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, attended with their families, joining a multidisciplinary team of employees committed to giving back. Together, they tackled areas of need across the city, picking up trash and completing beautification projects requested by local organizations.
Redwood City Public Works provided supplies, and Kaiser Permanente employees worked side by side with student volunteers earning community service hours for high school graduation. The collaboration improved the environment while also strengthening community ties.
Reflecting on the day, Ramberger said, “It was inspiring to see our team and their families come together to make a meaningful difference in the community we serve. This event reflects the heart of Kaiser Permanente — caring for people both inside and outside our hospital walls.”
Participants were rewarded with t-shirts, breakfast, and lunch, but the greatest reward was the shared sense of pride in making the community cleaner. The Redwood City team looks forward to an even bigger turnout for this meaningful event in 2026.
