Fremont nurses volunteer at the Tri-City Food Bank

On May 5, 2025, a team of nurses from the Fremont Professional Governance Council spent their day volunteering at the Tri-City Volunteers (TVC) Food Bank + Mobile Pantry.

The nurses assisted in sorting fruits and vegetables, contributing to the food bank’s efforts to serve 197 households and distribute 7,683 pounds of food which is equivalent to 6,402 meals.

TCV Food Bank + Mobile Pantry is a nonprofit organization serving over 10,000 individuals monthly in Fremont, Newark, and Union City. Its mission is to ensure that everyone in the Tri-City area has access to nutritious food. The organization operates efficiently with a small staff and a large volunteer base, distributing food through walk-up and drive-thru programs.

Food is sourced from local farms, grocery stores, and food banks, with a strong emphasis on fresh and rescued food that meets safety standards. TCV Food Bank focuses on reaching underserved populations, including low-income families and individuals facing employment barriers. The organization continues to make a significant impact through its community-driven approach to hunger relief.
