Kaiser Permanente Redwood City (KP RWC) sent 16 nurses from various departments to the 2025 ANCC Magnet Conference, our largest attendance to date. Representing multiple specialties and levels of practice, these nurses immersed themselves in three days of learning, innovation, and national exemplars of nursing excellence.
What made this year especially meaningful was what happened when they returned home. Every single attending nurse presented their top takeaways at either the Professional Governance Oversight Council or the PCS Leadership Collaborative meeting, ensuring that the knowledge gained at the conference spread across all units and councils. Their reflections highlighted new ideas in shared governance, quality outcomes, professional development, and patient-centered innovations that can be adapted to strengthen our own practice environment.
The conference theme, “The Power of Nursing,” resonated deeply with the team. Many nurses shared how inspiring it was to witness thousands of nursing professionals united around a shared vision of excellence. They echoed a common sentiment: that being part of a national community committed to advancing the profession affirmed the strength of our own culture of nursing at KP RWC.
