Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center Community Health Fair

Community Health Fair draws over 500 community members with nurse-led education, screenings, and overdose prevention resources.

The Community Health Fair engaged approximately 500–700 community members, demonstrating strong interest in preventive health services. Attendance was estimated by distributing over 300 family bags and maintaining steady participation throughout the event.

Nursing-Led Booths and Activities: Nursing teams led seven educational and preventive health booths, including Senior Surgical Services, Stroke Awareness, Stop the Bleed Demonstration, Distracted Driving Obstacle Course, Hands-Only CPR Demonstration, Colon Screening, and Narcan Distribution. These booths provided hands-on learning, safety demonstrations, and health screenings, supporting the fair’s mission to promote wellness.

Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention: The Emergency Department team distributed 120 Narcan kits and 80 substance test strips, advancing overdose prevention and increasing community access to life-saving resources.

Nurse and Nurse Leader Participation: Recognized for their leadership and support were Amy Brammer, MSN, RN, TCRN, TNS, CEN, CAISS, CSTR, NHDP-BC, Trauma Program Director; Joy Protacio MSN, RN, NE-BC, Quality & Safety Improvement Consultant IV, Clinical Quality Consulting, Sepsis Coordinator/Abstractor; Iris Ng MSN, RN, CCRN, Clinical Adult Nursing Director; Jessica Pemberton, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, CAISS, CSTR, Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator; Joseph C. Mojares, RN, MSN, CNL,Quality & Safety Improvement Consultant IV, Stroke Program Manager; Raven Duncan, BSN, RN, Out Patient Procedure Unit, Gastroentrology; and Annette Tuatagaloa, MSN, APRN-CNS, Adult/Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. Their expertise was instrumental in ensuring a wide range of health services and education for attendees.
