• ACS American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) Meritorious Performing Hospital 2025- This honors achieving meritorious status in regard to composite quality score in the High Risk category in the outcome areas of: Mortality, Cardiac, Respiratory (pneumonia), Unplanned Intubation, Ventilator>48 hours, Renal Failure, SSI, and UTI for surgical cases performed Jan 1, 2024 to Dec 31, 2024.
• Kaiser Permanente Alan Whippy Rising Star Award – Hospital Quality 2025- Awarded to the hospital that demonstrated significant improvement throughout the year on the Hospital Quality page, becoming one of the highest performing sites by the end of the year with a consistent and steady gain in improvements over the calendar year.
• Becker’s Hospital Review 2025- Hospital Recognition of Lowest CAUTI Rates.
• Stroke Care Excellence 2025: Earned Get With The Guidelines – Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Awarded a Heart Failure Bronze with Target: Heart Failure Optimal
• Stroke Certification from The Joint Commission: Services provided have the critical elements for patients to achieve long-term, successful recovery from stroke.
• Geriatric Surgery Excellence: Achieved American College of Surgeons – Level 1 Comprehensive Excellence Geriatric Surgical Verification. As a participant of the Geriatric Surgery Verification Program, Fremont has earned distinction as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner and that our medical center is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in surgical care.
• Highest Standards for OR Cleaning: Eight Fremont EVS team members are Certified Surgical Cleaning Technicians (CSCT) by the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE). AHE’s CSCT certification program sets a standard for surgical environmental services technicians responsible for cleaning and disinfecting operating rooms.
• Medicare Advantage Excellence: The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) recognized all Northern California Kaiser Permanente medical centers for excellence in the Medicare Advantage program. Fremont Medical Center was among those that achieved 5-star status.
• National Cancer Center Accreditation: Our cancer program in Fremont has received three-year accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and designated as Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
