New Ambulatory Treatment Center opens

Improving patient outcomes and decreasing readmissions through the Ambulatory Treatment Center

A major milestone in 2025 was the February opening of the Ambulatory Treatment Center (ATC). Nursing leadership partnered closely with hospital-based specialists and patient care coordinators to identify patients who could be safely discharged, with next-day follow-up care scheduled at the ATC.

This innovative approach allowed patients to return home sooner, surrounded by the comfort of their families while still receiving timely and essential medical treatment. Patient feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing deep appreciation for the opportunity to heal at home without compromising access to needed care. One patient shared, “Opening up this clinic is the best thing Kaiser ever did.”

The ATC’s efforts have also contributed to a meaningful reduction in hospital readmissions, with the department reporting a current year-to-date rate of 4.1%.
