In August 2025, KP Santa Rosa proudly hosted its first-ever Care Experience Awards, celebrating the teams whose compassion, consistency, and commitment embody our mission.
Care Experience is the heartbeat of what we do — it reflects how patients feel about the care they receive and the trust they place in our teams. Every interaction, every act of compassion, and every moment of safety and support contributes to the exceptional service we strive to deliver.
The ceremony recognized the top two KFH departments that met or exceeded their Likelihood to Recommend (LTR) targets for 2024 and 2025, as well as TPMG award honorees. The LTR measure, which asks patients, “Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?”, is a key indicator of patient trust and aligns with our Quality focus on reducing variation and advancing High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles — ensuring consistent behaviors, reliable practices, and excellence in care delivery, always.
The 2024 Care Experience Award went to 4 West (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry), which outperformed the facility’s LTR target of 76.3%, achieving 79.8% — 3.2 points above target. One patient shared, “I am very grateful for the care, compassion, and professionalism shown by most of those who worked with me.” Nurse Manager Brandy Wan, BSN, CCRN, accepted the award on behalf of her team.
The 2025 Care Experience Award was presented to 4 North (Medical-Surgical – Ortho and Oncology), which surpassed the facility target of 75.2%, achieving an impressive 79.5%, 4.3 points above target. Nurse Manager Marvin Tamayo, MSN, RN, CNL, accepted the recognition on behalf of his team. One patient shared, “This was the best hospital experience of my lifetime. Every single person, from doctors to room cleaners, was kind, respectful and genuine. Thank you.”
The celebration also included fun activities such as a photo booth and ice cream giveaways, bringing staff together in recognition of the extraordinary impact they have on patients every day.
The inaugural Care Experience Awards not only celebrated outstanding performance but also reignited collective pride in what defines KP Santa Rosa- a culture centered on compassion, quality, and the power of every moment.
